THE EXCITING NEWS
ARTA, Otsego County and The Sportsplex have partnered to build four, United States Tennis Association (USTA) sanctioned outdoor tennis courts at the Sportsplex. These courts will allow for increased access for people of all ages to learn and play tennis at low or no cost, contribute to physical fitness, and set the stage for a re-birth of high school tennis teams. They will also provide a site for regional competitions, leagues and tennis tournaments, promoting economic benefits for our area as visitors play, shop, dine, buy gas and stay overnight. Why do we need to build four courts? USTA sanctioned tournament play requires four adjacent courts. Gaylord public courts cannot meet this standard because of a lack of space for two court expansions and parking.

KIDS, KIDS, KIDS – THANK YOU KIWANIS
ARTA finished its third year of partnering with the Gaylord Kiwanis to provide after school tennis lessons to kids ages 6-10. Now almost 150 kids have participated receiving their own youth sized racquets, low compression balls, a Youth Tennis Team T shirt and Completion Certificate. Gaylord Kiwanis has made it possible to reduce fees so all can participate. We are very grateful for Kiwanis continued support.

THANK YOU
Thank you to these recent generous donors: Otsego County Community Foundation:  Dale and Marlene Smith Fund ($500), the Women Who Care Event ($2,000), the Scott and Janice Lampert Fund ($5,000); and Feeny Chrysler ($50).
