Nadine Donajkowski chosen USTA/Midwest Volunteer of the Month - January 2012
Nadine Donajkowski
Nadine currently serves on the Northern MI Tennis Association (NMTA) Nominating Committee and is an integral part of the NMTA League Committee. Nadine is also a director on the NMTA Board of Directors.Congratulations Nadine for being chosen as the Sectional volunteering of the month!
I began playing tennis in 2000, when ATA built the two indoor tennis courts in Alpena, looking for something to do when golf season ended. I shortly thereafter started a "Yet To Be Rated" women's league (at that time we did not have a teaching pro). I was invited to join and played on on a USTA league team representing Alpena in 2001. League play including women's, mixed doubles, combo and tri-level have offered a wonderful opportunity to meet many players here and throughout Northern Michigan. I have been fortunate enough to have been a part of a number of teams that have progressed to play at States, and Mixed doubles that progressed to Sectionals.
I am a working mother of two grown children, Lauren and Kelsey. I am employed full-time with Alpena Marc LLC, a property management company in Alpena; part-time for Bruce R. Ohmart, MD (trasnscription for orthopaedic surgeon) also in Alpena.
The following is taken from my bio for my (part-time) job in Chicago...
