It was a big day for the City of Ludington this past Friday when the rain stopped, the clouds broke and the sun shined down upon the much anticipated Ribbon Cutting, Dedication and Grand Opening of the:

LUDINGTON AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT’s $700,000 SCHOENHERR TENNIS COMPLEX

In December of 2006 Tom Kudwa, LHS Tennis Coach, assembled a group of tennis enthusiasts to do something about the Ludington Area School District tennis courts which were beyond repair.

In all, the Ludington Community was applauded as one of Michigan’s Finest as many hundreds of residents contributed to the fundraising efforts, which were capped off by a $256,000 donation from Lee and Joan Schoenherr after whom the facility is named.

Construction began in July 2008, and is now complete. The total cost of the project, including in-kind work, is over $700,000.

To commemorate and dedicate this state of the art tennis facility the event was held on-site at the:

Schoenherr Tennis Complex,
701 E. Tinkham Avenue, Ludington, MI 49431
from 5:30 - 6:15 p.m.
Friday, August 28, 2009
